Jessica Moore

“Since I was four, this is what I wanted to do.”

So says Jessica Moore, co-owner of Studio 135 with her husband, Kevin. And she’s not exaggerating.

“When I was four, I got a “Sue And Her Beauty Shop” doll. And it was all I wanted to play with,” Jessica said. “I spent hours with that doll.”

And as she grew up, her clients moved from her doll to her schoolmates. “All through school, girlfriends were asking me to do cuts, color, and other things. We probably attempted some things we shouldn’t have. But they always trusted me, and they kept coming back.

So as soon as she finished high school, Jessica enrolled in beauty school. She excelled, and begin working immediately after finishing as a stylist. She’s been a stylist ever since, and her enthusiasm for the business has made her extremely active in continuing education, earning credits in all aspects of hair styling, coloring, customer care, and salon management.

“I love it all,” she said.

The biggest challenge she’s faced in her career? “Being convinced that I should open my own salon,” Jessica said. “I’d been in the business for 17 years, but it took a lot of encouragement from Kevin before I took the plunge.

“And it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Kevin handles the day to day management and business decisions, which means that Jessica can concentrate on hair and client satisfaction.

“Every day, my goal is to do the absolute best hair I can for everyone,” she said. “And I know I’ve succeeded when a client can’t stop smiling and tells me four simple words:

“’I love my hair!’”
